The Best Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo

The Q Revo is a great choice if you're looking for a robotic vacuum and mop that's mid-range. It's got a fantastic mopping capabilities, but is lacking some of the advanced features found in its more expensive counterpart.

In the course of testing, it was able to take on dust and dry oats on carpets with medium piles as well as pet hair on hard floors. However, unlike other models, it doesn't use LIDAR to map out your home.

1. iRobot Roomba S9+

The iRobot Roomba S9+ robot vacuum is one of the most highly-rated robots. It has a lot of features and impressive cleaning power, such as an area for dirt that is built into the charging base. It can also learn your cleaning habits and suggest automated schedules for a truly hands-free experience.

Setup is easy, thanks to the iRobot Home app that walks you through the procedure. Once everything is connected, you can begin the automated cleaning functions with the push of the button. You can opt for an overall clean that emphasizes getting rid of larger pieces of debris such as cereal and rice, or opt for two thorough maps of your area to ensure your entire home gets a proper look.

This robot vacuum performs well on floors that are unfinished and low-pile carpet. It is able to take large objects and doesn't lose suction as rapidly as other models do and can clean up pet hair without difficulty. It does have a hard time with high-pile or plush carpet, Robot Vacuum but iRobot promises it will get better in the future with new models.

The S9+ features a new design from iRobot that focuses on enhancing edge and corner cleaning. It's the first Roomba that has an open-fronted, flat-fronted design. The company hopes this will allow it hug the furniture and walls. It's a step up from the hockey puck-shaped robovacs that are widely used however we found it to be just marginally superior to circular models.

iRobot claims that the S9+ also has superior filtration that blocks tiny particles and allergens from circulating throughout your home. We think this is a nice statement however, it's not enough to justify a premium price.

Its smart navigation system employs a combination of sensors to remember your home's layout and vSLAM technology to map your interior. It then cleans your entire home with ease by avoiding obstacles like stairs and other obstacles. The iRobot Home App allows you to schedule cleaning times and create virtual boundary markers so that the robot can determine which areas need extra attention.

2. Roborock Q Revo

Roborock Q Revo is a machine that combines vacuuming and mopping. Its vacuum settings are as good as those on higher-end models. And its mopping system is even better as its spinning pads clean your floors more effectively than a vibrating pad.

It's only downside is the lack of a second brush for more thorough cleaning. However, it's not a problem when you're looking to purchase one of the best robots on the market. The robo-vac's dust tank is also bigger than those on many of its rivals and it takes only two or three cycles to fill it, even at the highest dirt level.

For the mopping system, I was amazed by its ability to scrub hard dirt off my floors. Its two lowest mopping settings that are less powerful than high-powered settings, produce low noise, which means you can work or watch television without being distracted. It will gently hit furniture or walls, and then move away when it encounters one.

The Q Revo is unique in that it runs almost entirely on its own, requiring only minimal user involvement. The dock of the robo-vac is multifunctional and will automatically move trash into a hidden bin. It also cleans and dries the clean water tank. The app will only alert you when something is wrong like the water tank being empty or a cancelled vacuuming session due to an empty bin.

You can also create and merge rooms to modify the way that Q Revo manages your home. This is a great feature if you have multiple rooms in your home that have different floor materials or if there's a lot of clutter that needs to be removed frequently, like clothes, toys, and books. The robot vacuum is also efficient and was among the top performers in my tests, taking debris from both carpets and hardwoods on the first pass. It is able to even clean up spills that are wet, though I recommend wiping them dry using a clean cloth before bringing the robot in.

3. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni

The X2 Omni has all of the features you'd expect from a premium robot vacuum and mop and more. It has a rotating mop and a powerful vacuum that can clean carpets and hard floors. It is similar to the irobot vacuum and mop Roomba S9+. It also comes with a self-cleaning station that automatically washes and cleans the mop pads, keeping them fresh and ready for reuse. It also comes with a brand new sensor system that better detects obstacles, granting it the ability to prevent falling over furniture or other objects.

The biggest difference over the ECOVACS Deebot X1 is that this version has a sleeker, more modern design due to Danish firm Jacob Jensen Design (best known for Bang & Olufsen products). While still quite massive--it's nearly two feet high and deep and weighs almost four pounds--the entire robot and its base are much smaller than the Roborock Q Revo or iRobot j7.

This version is more efficient than the X1 since it charges faster and can clean up 1,500 square feet in one charge. It also has a bigger, more durable dustbin to hold more debris which makes it easier to empty when needed.

Lastly, the X2 Omni has a more intuitive app as well as an assistant voice that works offline, allowing you to use it even if you're not home. It also comes with a smart routing feature that allows it to clean specific areas or rooms of your home, instead of following a predetermined path.

The X2 Omni is the most effective mopping robot. Its mop pads rotating remove tough stains and its motor produces a lot of downward pressure. Its vacuuming is excellent as well, and it boosts suction when it detects carpet to ensure it does an excellent job. It comes with a huge rechargeable battery that can last up to seven days. The mopping mode of the robot is also extremely effective.

4. Dreametech L10s Ultra

The Dreametech L10s Ultra is a high-end mop and robot vacuum that comes with a host of convenience features you do not often find on robots of this price. It is able to build precise floor maps, recognize different types of flooring, and it's one of the few to automatically wash and dry its mop pads. These are nice features but they also place the L10s in the luxury category. This could make it more expensive than what homeowners want.

It is designed to resemble a modern floor cleaner, the L10s Ultra is a tall and slim machine with an elegant white finish that's enhanced by mirror plating and silver elements. The front of the machine features an impressive bumper that protects the vacuum cleaner and furniture while moving around your home. In the pane in the front is a second navigation technology that is comprised of sensors that aid the L10s Ultra navigate around tight corners and avoid obstacles.

On the top, there's one button that acts as an on/off switch. This button will turn on the vacuum. Clicking it again will shut it off and send it to its base station. The control panel includes a circular menu that allows you to select cleaning modes or schedules, as well as preferences. The left and right buttons will open the app's settings which allow you to customize how the L10s Ultra interacts with your home.

Similar to the iRobot Roomba S9+ and Roborock Q Revo, the L10s Ultra uses a combination of LIDAR and camera-based navigation technology to help you map out your home. This helps the robot vacuum and mop effectively without getting stuck. The LIDAR assists the robot vacuum to avoid obstacles and identify them as obstacles, which is an excellent feature for households with pets or young children.

The L10s Ultra is an extremely powerful vacuum cleaner, which removes 98.4% debris from our test on hard floors and taking out all but stubborn juice staining. Its mops are efficient, removing 98.4% of debris on our wood, tile, and carpet tests. It was not as efficient in removing sand from the hard floor or quaker oatmeal from the carpet.
