You can replace the Volvo key fob batteries by following a few simple steps. First, locate a clear work area to carry out the process. Make a list of all the tools you'll need. Then, locate the battery's hatch and then open it with a flathead, coin, or a similar tool. Next, carefully pry the battery from its socket by lifting up on the side that is closest to the key-ring loop. Be sure to use rubber gloves to protect the clips or electronic contact surfaces.

After the battery is removed, place the new battery into its socket. Make sure that the positive end of the battery is facing upwards, and the clips are all seated. Slide the cover towards the key-ring area until it is loose and is able to slide off. Remove the cover to reveal the hidden key blade. This can be used to unlock your car from the driver's door in the event that you've lost or broken the key fob.

How to Start Your Vehicle
